Introduction to Rock Climbing
In this class you will learn the BASIC OF CLIMBING SAFETY: - tie a proper knot - belay safely with various belay devices You will also be taught CLIMBING TECHNIQUES such as using your feet and keeping your weight on your feet to conserve energy. These techniques will allow you not to have to rely on arm strength. You DO NOT have to be STRONG to CLIMB! SAFETY is my MAIN CONCERN and it SHOULD BE YOURS! Multi-pitch climbs See Custom instruction. We need to be sure of your level before we engage in a multi-pitch climb together. Any guiding business which tells you any different has no idea what they are talking about. Remember that climbing can be a dangerous sport if not done properly and we pride ourselves in our care for our customers. We want you to have the best experience possible with little time to get to know you. For that we need to spend at least a half day climbing with you on single pitch routes to assure ourselves that you have perfect knowledge or: - Belaying safely - Rapeling or Absailing - Some rope handling techniques - Some advanced climbing techniques - No fear of height Price per person: 2000 Bahts with Thai instructor 2500 Bahts with international instructor |

Our instructors Cathy Beloeil, founder and manager of Cat’s Climbing School, has been climbing for 17 years and teaching in the US and Thailand for over 10 years. She was trained in the US, had her own Guiding business in SLC, UT before deciding to move to Thailand and to be involved in trying to reopen the climbing on Phi-Phi island as well as to try to raise the quality level of the instruction available there. She has been working at re-establishing safe climbing on Phi-Phi as well as training a core crew of Thai instructors. Cathy is also known for her photography published all over the world. | Sanan Changnarm, owner of Cat’s Climbing Shop, trained extensively by Cathy Beloeil to be a safe and educated climber. Climbing has changed his life and he wants to share with beginners what climbing has given him. | Tyt, assistant guide; also trained by Cathy Beloeil will be able to take people climbing on his own as soon as he master the english language enough to teach the basic of Rock Climbing.
